Notes for this study:
Supplementation of 1,200mg NAC for six weeks and 2,400mg for another six weeks in persons with trichotillomania appears to significantly reduce symptoms of hair pulling relative to placebo, and the improvement in symptoms here is met with an increase in quality of life (11.2% increase relative to baseline) and reductions in both anxiety (31% reduction) and depression (36% reduction) that are comorbidities of trichotillomania.
