Application of a 5% niacinamide cream to the face of japanese women with hyperpigmentation (brown spots) for four weeks has resulted in less visible pigmentation while in another trial 2% niacinamide for four weeks in tanned women resulted in lightened skin relative to placebo cream.Funding issues for this study:
