Green tea extract was able to _acutely_ reduce insulin secretion and improve insulin sensitivity (13%) when supplemented at a dose of 890mg total catechins, giving 366mg EGCG; study conducted in otherwise healthy young men.

Fat oxidation rates were also increased by 17%.
