Dark Chocolate Or Tomato Extract For Prehypertension: A Randomised Controlled Trial
Notes for this study:
|Number of Subjects
A study in prehypertensive subjects where one arm was given 50g of dark chocolate (70% cocoa) daily over 12 weeks did not appear to appreciably reduce blood pressure relative to a placebo group.
Study was not blinded due to assessing the feasibility of eating 50g dark chocolate daily compared to a capsule (a third group which was given lycopene).
