The Short-term Effect Of Flavonoid-rich Dark Chocolate On Retinal Vessel Diameter In Glaucoma Patients And Age-matched Controls

Effect None
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length 24 hours
Number of Subjects 60
Sex Both Genders
Age Range 45-64
Notes for this study:
Acute ingestion of 40g dark chocolate in glaucoma patients failed to acutely influence blood pressure or intraocular pressure (IOP) any more than white chocolate, while in control subjects without glaucoma there was an increased vessel dilation in response to a flicker test; IOP in this group was also unaffected.
