Effect Of Dark Chocolate On Nitric Oxide Serum Levels And Blood Pressure In Prehypertension Subjects
Notes for this study:
|Number of Subjects
Ingestion of dark chocolate at 30g a day (70% cocoa) in prehypertensive subjects appeared to increase the amount of nitric oxide in serum (assessed by biomarkers) alongside reductions in blood pressure relative to the white chocolate control group over 15 days in prehypertensive subjects.
Study was poorly blinded for a double-blind placebo controlled ranking (similar packages, but white and dark chocolate were not visually altered).
