In trained cyclists subject to an exercise protocol (90 minutes of submaximal cycling followed immediately by a time trial), 1.66g of taurine failed to impact performance parameters yet increased fat oxidation during the submaximal cycle by 17% (although this amounted to 5g of fat or 20kcal).
