The Effect Of Acute Taurine Ingestion On Endurance Performance And Metabolism In Well-trained Cyclists

Effect None
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length 24 hours
Number of Subjects 11
Sex Male
Age Range 18-29
Body Types Trained, Average
Notes for this study:
In trained cyclists subject to an exercise protocol (90 minutes of submaximal cycling followed immediately by a time trial), 1.66g of taurine failed to impact performance parameters yet increased fat oxidation during the submaximal cycle by 17% (although this amounted to 5g of fat or 20kcal).
