In exercising youth (aged 13.5-18), HMB supplementation at 3g daily was able to increase lean mass more than placebo over a period of 7 weeks alongside training which was associated with an improvement in power output only on leg curls (leg extensions and arm exercises had no significant increase, and when pooled together the increases weren't significant) yet an increase in power output on a Wingate test.
