An Experimental Randomized Study On The Analgesic Effects Of Pharmaceutical-grade Cannabis In Chronic Pain Patients With Fibromyalgia

Effect Decrease
Trial Design Randomized trial
Trial Length 24 hours
Number of Subjects 25
Sex Female
Notes for this study:
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled 4-way crossover study, 25 female participants with fibromyalgia took 100 mg of Bedrocan (22% THC with less than 1% CBD), 200 mg of Bediol (6.3% THC and 8% CBD), 200 mg of Bedrolite (9% CBD and less than 1% THC), or placebo acutely. Pain was measured for 3 hours.

Pressure pain declined similarly in the Bedrocan and Bediol groups while Bedrolite declined less, and placebo declined the least. There weren't statistically significant differences for electrical pain threshold, electrical pain tolerance, or spontaneous pain score.
