In otherwise healthy subjects (naive to cannabis) where pain was induced by topical capsaicin and given either 15mg THC or placebo noted that the THC condition was associated with a reduction in perceived adverseness to the pain (despite the perception of pain intensity being similar); an overall benefit was seen due to subjects not caring about the pain as much.
