The Effect Of Oral L-arginine Supplementation On Fasting Glucose, HbA1c, Nitric Oxide And Total Antioxidant Status In Diabetic Patients With Atherosclerotic Peripheral Arterial Disease Of Lower Extremities
|Trial Design||Double blind|
|Trial Length||1-6 months|
|Number of Subjects||38|
|Age Range||45-64, 65+|
|Body Types||Obese, Overweight|
6g of L-Arginine daily (in three doses of 2g) for 2 months in persons with both diabetes and peripheral artery disease was able to increase total antioxidant capacity (normally impaired with diabetes) and nitric oxide metabolites, but failed to benefic HbA1c and fasting blood glucose.
