Notes for this study:
In a randomized, double-blind, controlled trial, 144 participants with recent myocardial infarctions took 120 mg of coq10 daily or a b-vitamin supplement daily for one year.

The group that received coenzyme q10 saw a statistically significantly greater increase in vitamins E and C, a greater reduction in TBARS, malondialdehyde, and diene conjugates with a greater increase in HDL but not total cholesterol or LDL.

There wasn't a statistically significant difference in sudden cardiac death, fatal myocardial infarction, or total cardiac deaths, and stroke, though the coq10 group experienced fewer of each. There was a statistically significant reduction in non-fatal myocardial infarction.
