In a randomized, double0blind, placebo-controlled trial, 42 migraine patients were allocated to 300 mg of coenzyme q10 or placebo daily for 4 months.

The primary outcome was the frequency of migraine attacks, and there was a reduction in the number of attacks, which was statistically significant compared with placebo. There was also a statistically significant reduction in the number of days of nausea/vomiting, and a nonsignificant reduction in migraine severity, and duration of migraines.
