|Number of Subjects
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial 74 participants with type 2 diabetes took 100 mg of coq10 daily or placebo for 12 weeks.
There was a statistically significantly greater reduction in total cholesterol, malondialdehyde and a significantly greater increase in adiponectin than placebo. While not statistically significant, the coq10 group saw a greater improvement in fasting glucose, HbA1c, insulin, triglycerides, LDL, leptin, 8-Isoprostane, and insulin resistance.
