The Effects Of Coenzyme Q10 Supplementation On Cardiometabolic Markers In Overweight Type 2 Diabetic Patients With Stable Myocardial Infarction: A Randomized, Double-blind, Placebo-controlled Trial

Effect Decrease
Values (nmol/mg protein). Mean and SD. Placebo: before 1.4 ± 0.2, after 1.5 ± 0.1. Intervention: before 1.3 ± 0.2, after 1.1 ± 0.2.
Trial Design Randomized trial
Trial Length 1-6 months
Number of Subjects 60
Sex Both Genders
Notes for this study:
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 60 diabetic participants with coronary heart disease were allocated to 100 mg/day of coq10 or placebo for 8 weeks.

LP(a), AGEs, and thiols weren't different compared with placebo, but IL-6 saw a statistically significant decrease and so did protein carbonyls.
