|Number of Subjects||52|
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 52 participants who had suffered a myocardial infarction took 200 mg of Coenzyme Q10 or placebo for 12 weeks.
There was a statistically significantly greater increase in HDL in the intervention group, and a greater decrease in IL-6 and ICAM-1, with only nonsignificant reductions in total cholesterol, no difference for LDL, and a small increase in triglycerides.
