Effects Of A Betaine-containing Toothpaste On Subjective Symptoms Of Dry Mouth: A Randomized Clinical Trial

Notes for this study:
In subjects either with dry mouth symptoms or healthy controls, a toothpaste containing 4% betaine over the course of six weeks was noted to reduce dry mouth symptoms in persons with dry mouth (beneficially affecting 44% of persons, a level significantly greater than placebo toothpaste) and appeared to have its efficacy reduced in the presence of 1% sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS).
