Plasma Boron And The Effects Of Boron Supplementation In Males

In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial, 19 male weightlifters were allocated to take placebo or 2.5 mg of boron daily for 49 days while undergoing an exercise training program.
One rep max for squats improved similarly in both groups, while the control group saw a greater improvement in one rep max for bench press. Testosterone and free testosterone were increased somewhat more in the boron group, but the differences weren't statistically significant compared with the placebo group. There also weren't notable differences between groups for lean body mass and body fat percentage.
