Whey And Casein Labeled With L-1-13Cleucine And Muscle Protein Synthesis: Effect Of Resistance Exercise And Protein Ingestion

Effect None
Trial Design Double blind
Trial Length 24 hours
Number of Subjects 17
Sex Male
Age Range 18-29
Body Types Untrained, Average
Notes for this study:
Whey and casein (0.3g/kg) were equally effective in increasing muscle protein synthesis when measured over 6 hours, although analyzing the first half and the second half of the time period in isolation demonstrated different times of efficacy. Whey was more effective than both control and casein in increasing serum insulin levels, and no treatment increased IGF-1.
