Studies related to Interleukin 6 and Rhodiola Rosea

Rhodiola rosea does not reduce in vivo inflammatory activity after continuous endurance exercise
Effect Increase
Values Figure 1
Trial Design Randomized trial
Trial Length 1-2 Weeks
Number of Subjects 12
Sex Male
Notes for this study:
In a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial, 12 healthy, active participants were allocated to take 800 mg of Rhodiola Rosea or placebo daily after exercise for eight days per condition. Creatine kinase levels were statistically significantly higher for several days after exercise when taking placebo than Rhodiola. Il-6 levels were somewhat higher in the Rhodiola group, and TNF-a was somewhat lower at 2 hours after exercise but not after 24. The researchers refer to lactic acid, c-reactive protein, and IL-1b but provide no data.
