In this randomized controlled trial, participants were assigned to an 8-week resistance training program with three nonconsecutive training days per week, plus one of two diets: a normal diet or a 20:4 protocol which was employed on the four non-training days each week. At the beginning and end of the study body composition, hip sled and bench press one-rep max, and subjective measurements were recorded. Additionally, dietary patterns were measured for four days during the first, fifth, and eight weeks of the study.
