In this randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled crossover trial, 21 female tennis players took 8 g of citrulline malate with dextrose or just dextrose acutely prior to a variety of exercise tests.
Minimal handgrip strength and average grip strength, and explosive power and relative peak power, on the Wingate cycling test were all higher after citrulline. There weren't statistically significant differences for anaerobic capacity, however.
