Notes for this study:
In this 4-week randomized controlled trial, 60 breastfeeding women with insufficient milk production were assigned to either 12 sessions of acupressure plus routine education or routine education only. At 2 and 4 weeks, expressed breast milk volume (measure via electric pump) increased from baseline values in both groups, but the increase was greater in the group receiving acupressure. The acupressure group expressed 36.2 mL of milk at 4 weeks compared to 18 mL of expressed milk in the control group.
