Supplementation of 10g psyllium seeds twice daily for a year (total dose of 20g daily) in persons undergoing remission for their ulcerative colitis is associated with improved remission rates with a potency comparable to 500mg mesalamine (thrice daily), with the two being slightly additive. Study was open label.
